Team GB Logo Great Britain Under-18 Women were beaten 2-1 by China U18 Women in their fourth match at the World Championship (Division 1 Qualification) in Katowice.

But GB got back into the game through Kimberley Lane (38:09) on the breakaway to level the scores going into the third period.

Bowen Jiang (41:24) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal, as GB were unable to find a way through despite late pressure.

Swindon Wildcats logo The Swindon Wildcats suffered a minor setback to their season last Saturday evening, as the side fell victim to a 5-1 home defeat against the Peterborough Phantoms.

Within eight minutes the visitors then doubled their lead, as Donastas Kumeliauskas would see his individual effort beat a screen and with it, netminder Stevie Lyle.

Telford Tigers logo The Tigers delivered a knockout blow to Guildford Flames with a 4-0 victory at The Spectrum – a win that Tom Watkins hailed as “huge for our season”.

Saturday night’s success in Surrey means Telford are now 13 points clear at the top of the English Premier League, having seen off their nearest challengers.

They now have 15 games left to win the required eight games to be mathematically certain of securing their first league title since 1988.

Telford Tigers logo Tigers chief Tom Watkins believes the pressure will be on Guildford Flames in Saturday’s top-two clash at the Spectrum in Surrey.

The two teams meet with 11 points separating them at the top of the English Premier League, as the business end of the season starts in earnest.

A Telford victory would see them go 13 points clear, leaving them needing just eight wins from the remaining 17 games to secure the title.

Their last meeting in Guildford ended in a 7-1 success for The Tigers, and Watkins wants the expectation to be firmly on their hosts, as they look to reverse that result.
