Head Coach Tom Watkins kept The Tigers’ opponents guessing as they continued their charge to the top of the English Premier League.

Wins over Peterborough and Milton Keynes have given leaders Telford a two-point cushion, with Basingstoke the only other side within striking distance.

The Bison have a game in hand over The Tigers, while Guildford – who travel to Shropshire next weekend – are a further two points adrift.

Manchester Phoenix logo The J Davidson sponsored Manchester Phoenix won a thrilling derby match 12-5 against local rivals Blackburn Hawks at the Altrincham Ice Dome this evening.

The Challenge Cup tie was the first competitive meeting between the Phoenix, formed in 2003, and the Hawks*, which was reflected in an attendance of over 1,000 on Sunday night.

Guildford Flames logo Five different goal scorers, including Marcus Kristoffersson with the winner early in the 2nd, helped the Guildford Flames ice hockey club to a home ice win by sending the Peterborough Phantoms away on the wrong end of a 5-1 tally. In the weekend opener, Owen Fussey bagged the game winner early in the 3rd when he snapped a 2-2 tie, and David Longstaff added two late empty netters, as the Flames recorded a 5-2 win on the road at Swindon Wildcats.
