Team GB Logo Great Britain Under-18s have won a thrilling bronze medal in the World Championship in Tallinn after coming from behind and going on to beat Netherlands in a penalty shootout. Trailing 3-2 in the closing stages, Toms Rutkis scored with nine seconds remaining after coach Martin Grubb had lifted netminder Denis Bell in favour of the extra skater.

The first 10 penalties were missed and GB won it on the eighth round of shots, with Sam Duggan scoring the winning penalty.

Telford Tigers logo The Tigers are one step closer to a triple crown of major trophies, following Friday night’s 5-0 win over Sheffield Steeldogs in the EPL play-offs.

Victory in the quarter-final-first leg means Telford are now favourites to claim a first-ever place at next week’s Coventry finals tournament.

The two sides resume hostilities at Telford Ice Rink on Saturday evening, with the county men looking to add a third trophy the EPL title and British Challenge Cup.

Team GB Logo Great Britain Under-18s set up a bronze-medal decider as they beat Croatia U18s 7-1 this afternoon in the World Championship (Division 2A) in Tallinn.

Martin Grubb's youngsters will now go head-to-head with Netherlands tomorrow, with the winner taking home the bronze medal.

Glenn Billing scored a hat-trick against Croatia to help GB to a huge win, while netminder Renny Marr turned away 16 of the 17 shots he faced.

A double of major honours means this season is already Telford’s most successful ever, ahead of a mouthwatering home-and-away series against Sheffield Steeldogs.

Telford Tigers logo Former Liverpool and England footballer Jamie Carragher will be guest of honour at The Tigers presentation evening next month.

The Champions League winner, who made 508 appearances for Liverpool, will be in Shropshire for the event on April 17th, at the Park House in Shifnal.

He currently appears on Sky Sports as a highly-regarded pundit and co-host of the channels flagship Monday Night Football show.

Team GB Logo Great Britain Women's coach Cheryl Smith says the match with a Solway Sharks Select side in Dumfries tonight was great preparation for next week's World Championship. GB had their first training session at Dumfries Ice Bowl this morning and then played the Solway side in the evening.

Solway won the game 9-4, with Jodie Bloom scoring twice for GB and one each for Paige Henry and Sophie Herbert.

Team GB Logo A Great Britain Senior Prospects team will face Romania in Scotland next month.

Romania will play two games in Scotland as part of their preparations for the World Championship (Division 2A) tournament in Iceland.

A Scottish Elite Select side will play Romania on Wednesday 8th April (7:30pm), while the game between the GB Senior Prospects and Romania takes place on Friday 10th April (7:30pm).

Telford Tigers logo Tigers’ high-scoring forward Peter Szabo has been named English Premier League Player of the Year by Ice Hockey Journalists UK.

The 34-year-old, who has bagged 40 goals and 63 assists in 55 games this season, will receive his award at Saturday’s play-off game against Sheffield Steelsdogs.

He was named Player of the Year after a lengthy voting process, carried out by journalists who cover the game in the United Kingdom.

Miss McQueen, who presents Sky’s Champions League football coverage, is to appear alongside an as-yet unnamed special guest.

The glittering event will see The Tigers players honoured for a remarkable campaign, when they won the club’s first-ever double of major honours.
