Gareth O’Flaherty wants to capitalise on his success in winning the Elite League play-offs when he skates out for The Phoenix next season.
The 25-year-old playmaker, who won the end-of-year competition with Coventry Blaze, guested for his new club during last season’s injury crisis.
O’Flaherty’s “surreal” year with Coventry saw him play a part in beating Sheffield Steelers in the play-off final, while also turning out for the club’s NIHL side.

Manchester Phoenix forward James Archer has hailed the role of Red Hockey and Neil Morris in getting the GB Inline squad to Finland for the World Championships.
The national side are favourites to reach the quarter-finals of the Division One competition, following Sunday’s 16-1 demolition of Bulgaria and yesterday’s 5-4 win over Austria.
But with inline hockey rarely receiving the exposure of mainstream ice hockey, Archer was delighted when Phoenix owner Morris stepped in to ensure GB could compete in Tampere.

Manchester Phoenix have signed forward Gareth O’Flaherty, as the countdown continues to the new English Premier League campaign.
O’Flaherty, 25, was a member of the Blaze side that won the Elite League play-offs last season, alongside playing 22 games with the club’s NIHL squad.
Those matches in the Laidler Conference produced 21 points for the Surrey-born playmaker, who has also enjoyed spells with Telford Tigers and Nottingham Lions.

Manchester Phoenix will bring English Premier League ice hockey to North Wales next season, after the club agreed a deal with Flintshire County Council to use Deeside Ice Rink.
Plans for a 3000-seater arena in Manchester - featuring an Olympic-sized ice pad - has the backing of developers and will eventually become the club's permanent base.
But with the English Premier League campaign starting in September, Phoenix bosses have elected to play home games in Flintshire next season.

Benjamin Russell will fulfil a long-term ambition when he skates out for Manchester Phoenix in the English Premier League next season.
The 21-year-old became Tony Hand’s latest recruit last week, when he agreed terms on a one-year deal with the 2014 EPL champions. He will join a side that many expect to be a front-runner once again next season, following the recruitment of three-time Elite League winner, Mark Thomas. The former Milton Keynes youngster is looking forward to sampling the atmosphere generated by the club’s now-famous ‘Faithful’.
