Manchester Phoenix’s legendary Coach Tony Hand has revealed his gratitude at the response from the UK hockey community following the formation of a Supporters Trust in order to guarantee the club’s future.
To help fund the team for the remainder of the season, the Phoenix have created a new Supporters Trust to give fans the opportunity to secure the club’s future ahead of a return to Manchester for next season.

The Manchester Phoenix has announced that it has formed a Supporters Trust in order to guarantee the club’s future.
The Phoenix have been playing out of Deeside in North Wales this season before moving to a new rink in Manchester for the 2016/17 season.

Manchester Phoenix’s injury hit season took another twist this week when the club learned that top import Stanislav Gron would be out for some time after suffering a fracture to his jaw in a collision with young Peterborough Phantoms forward Martins Susters last Sunday. The players collided in mid ice in the first period and Gron fell awkwardly, sustaining the injury.

The Phoenix have set up a Supporters Trust to gain funding in order to complete this season and get back home to Manchester next season. At the end of last season, due to a situation beyond their control they were unable to continue playing home games in Manchester, leaving the club little choice but to try and find an alternative home to compete in the Premier Ice Hockey league, leading to this season being played out in Deeside, North Wales.

Manchester Phoenix are “very close” to securing the long-term future of the club in a brand-new venue – that’s the view of Red Hockey owner Wayne Scholes.
The English Premier League outfit is spending a season playing out of Deeside Ice Rink, after deciding to leave the temporary facility in Altrincham.
Bosses at the club – which is part-owned by Red Hockey – are now preparing for life in a new home close to Manchester city centre.
