Tony Hand continues to build his squad for next season by re-signing two stalwarts. Firstly, James Neil returns to the blue line for his 8th season with the club.
Nottingham-born James played his junior hockey in his home town from 2002, icing for the Cougars, Leopards, Lions and the senior side, the Panthers. During this time, he was also a regular in the Great Britain team, icing in the World Junior Championships at under 18 and under 20 levels.

It's time to celebrate the Manchester Phoenix's successful return home to Manchester. Neil Morris said "I want to thank the faithful who have been on this sometimes difficult journey with Tony and myself. As a thank you and a big welcome to new Ice Hockey fans of Manchester we are FREEZING our season ticket prices and extending the early bird till the end of August."

"Freezing Point Limited has ceased trading and is now subject to insolvency proceedings pursuant to the Insolvency Act 1986.
"As Manchester Phoenix tweeted last night, the future of Manchester Phoenix Ice Hockey Club (MPIHC) is no more in jeopardy today than it was yesterday.
Eastlands is confirmed as Phoenix’s new home

A deal has been agreed in principle to deliver a new home for the Manchester Phoenix ice hockey team, at an existing building in the Eastlands area.
Subject to the approval of Manchester City Council's Executive on Wednesday 29 June and the consideration of a planning application by the City Council's Planning and Highways Committee, the Manchester Ice Dome will officially open to the public in late September.

Tony and Neil have been very busy since the last puck dropped a few weeks ago now. It’s no great secret that Tony wanted to change the makeup of the team for next season. Wanting to build the team around a core of British players who have become the backbone of the club, he has moved quickly to secure the contracts of nearly half his squad for the new season.
