Telford Tigers had a first period goal blitz to thank for their 8-3 win over Sheffield Steeldogs in the EPL play-offs on Sunday night.
Victory at Ice Sheffield means the Tigers remain in contention for a top-two spot in their four-team group, and a place at the finals tournament next month.
Five goals in the opening 20 minutes laid the groundwork for victory on Sunday, as Telford gave their Yorkshire hosts few opportunities to hit back.

Telford Tigers put in a stellar second period performance to beat Peterborough Phantoms 7-0 in the EPL play-offs on Saturday night.
Victory at Telford Ice Rink opened the Tigers’ account in the end-of-season competition, following a midweek 3-0 loss to Guildford Flames.
They now go on to face Sheffield Steeldogs in Yorkshire on Sunday, as they seek to clinch a spot at the finals tournament next month.

Tigers coach Tom Watkins paid tribute to his side’s record of just one home loss all season, as they rounded off their league campaign with a 3-1 win over Milton Keynes Lightning.
Victory at Telford Ice Rink on Sunday night was the Tigers’ sixteenth in a row in all competitions, a run that saw them finish the year twelve points clear in first place.

Tigers coach Tom Watkins will urge his men to learn the lessons of their opening play-off defeat to Guildford Flames at Telford Ice Rink on Wednesday night.
The 3-0 loss brings to an end a sixteen-game winning run for the Tigers, who beat the Flames 4-2 just two weeks previously.
The EPL champions must now regroup for the rest of the play-off campaign, which also sees them play Sheffield and Peterborough over the next fortnight.

Telford Tigers celebrated winning the English Premier League in style with a 4-2 win over Guildford Flames on Sunday night.
The EPL champions were handed the trophy by EIHA chairman Ken Taggart, in front of a near-capacity crowd at Telford Ice Rink.
The win was Telford’s fourteenth in a row, following Saturday night’s 4-3 success against Sheffield Steeldogs.
