We can hold our heads high tonight” – that was the reaction of Tigers coach Tom Watkins, following his side’s 4-1 defeat to Peterborough Phantoms on Sunday evening.
The county men rounded off a tough week with a hard-nosed performance in Peterborough, although their lead over Milton Keynes at the top of the EPL now stands at just four points.
Telford failed to recover from an early Phantoms strike at Bretton Road, despite having the better of the scoring opportunities for much of the game.

Victory at Telford Ice Rink means the Tigers remain six points clear of Milton Keynes at the top of the standings.

Telford Tigers extended their lead at the top of the English Premier League to four points with a dramatic 2-1 win over Milton Keynes Lightning on Saturday night.
An early goal from the hosts meant Telford trailed for much of the game in Milton Keynes, before they snatched victory with two last-gasp strikes – including one in overtime.
Victory means the Tigers now have a key psychological advantage over second-placed Lightning, ahead of Sunday night’s return encounter at Telford Ice Rink (6pm).

Tigers coach Tom Watkins credited his side’s recovery from a “blip” in Hull last month for their third straight win, as they went six points clear at the top of the English Premier League.
Sunday’s 6-3 success over second-placed Milton Keynes Lightning means Telford have scored twelve goals since that 6-0 defeat at the hands of Hull Pirates last week.
