Melichar departs to pastures new |

Slough Jets head coach Peter Russell has today confirmed that experienced Czech defenceman Jan Melichar will not be offered a new contract for the 2010/11 season. The 32-year-old defenceman had spent four season's with Bracknell before making the short trip along the M4 last summer. Jets head coach Pete Russell today paid tribute to Melichar and wished him all the best with his new club: "Firstly I'd like to thank Jan for his efforts during his time in Slough.

The Telford Tigers have announced that they have been accepted back into the English Premier Ice Hockey League for the 2010-11 season. In a statement on their re-designed website the club, the first to be owned by a supporters' trust, said that their application had been accepted after a meeting with league officials at the Coventry playoff weekend.

The Guildford Flames ice hockey club, fresh off the close of the season, have begun to make changes to their roster in anticipation of the new campaign. 5 year veteran forward Vinny Zavoral will not return to the Spectrum outfit for the new campaign.

The Slough Jets are delighted to announce that the English Premier League's coach of the year Peter Russell has agreed to return for the 2010/11 season. The Scotsman who led the Jets to the EPL playoff title following an overtime win against the Guildford Flames, will return to The Hanger for his second season having joined from local rivals, the Bracknell Bees last summer.

Great Britain takes a well deserved day of rest |

Today the GB team [u18] had a late morning in bed to rest and recuperate from the previous day’s events, in preparation for the Kazakhstan game.
The players fuelled up at a late breakfast before returning to their rooms prior to the practice session. Practice was designated to free flowing drills where the players looked highly-motivated and executed to a high level.
