This weekend the Swindon Wildcats will hope to bounce back from a short string of negative results, with a two day road trip against both the Basingstoke Bison & the Manchester Phoenix
On Saturday the Wildcats will travel to face the Bison in a game that could well see either side pick up a two point victory. Basingstoke although showing some inconsistencies at home, will bring a strong side to the fixture whilst Swindon themselves will also be looking to keep a record of averaging over 3 goals a game this month to help push for a win.

Milton Keynes Lightning missed a chance to take two vital league points against Basingstoke Bison on Saturday as they fell to a 1-5 home defeat, Steve Moria's team exacting a calculating revenge on Lightning for defeating the Herd on their own ice the previous weekend. After an evenly-matched first period, the Hampshire side scored four times in the second period, sealing the win with a Steve Moria goal in the final period. The Lightning began the game without defenceman Michael Farn through injury, but new signing Tuomas Tikkanen made his debut as a forward for the hosts, only four days after arriving in the UK.

Milton Keynes Lightning this weekend take on Manchester Phoenix at the Thunderdome with a big point to prove – that they CAN get back to winning ways, especially where the Cheshire side is concerned (Saturday 4 February, 7.00pm)
The two teams have met four times already this season: the Lightning’s first league fixture of the season was against the Phoenix, Nick Poole’s team emerging with a convincing 5-2 victory, thanks to two goals each for Lukas Zatopek and Adam Carr, and one for Blaz Emersic – but since then Lightning have been unable to take any points from Phoenix.

On the road against Telford Tigers, after a 9-1 home win over the same team 24 hours prior, the Guildford Flames ice hockey club suffered a 5-4 Penalty shoot out loss that may feel a bit like a win.
